A long weekend in Casco Viejo. Rooftop dinners, a private catamaran day to Taboga Island, and the kind of nights you'll be telling stories about for years.
Casco Viejo is the neighborhood that made Panama City famous. Cobblestones, colonial walls, rooftop bars at golden hour, salsa bleeding out of open doors at midnight. We make it our home base for the weekend.
Friday night is a rooftop welcome reception — three-hour open bar, four-course dinner, the skyline as the table runner. Saturday: a guided Embera Village trip in the morning, then an open afternoon and an optional bar hop through Casco's best spots. Sunday is on the water — eight hours on a private catamaran out to Taboga Island with a chef on board. Monday slows down: a Geisha coffee workshop with one of Panama's best, then a farewell dinner.
You'll stay with the group at a luxury boutique hotel inside Casco Viejo's walls — four nights, walking distance to every dinner, every bar, every rooftop on the itinerary. Solo travelers welcome. Friends welcome. Couples welcome. The vibe stays the same: grown folks who travel well.
Casco Viejo's colonial heart. A guided Embera Village & Waterfall trip up the river. A Panamanian Geisha coffee workshop with one of the country's best. Real history, real neighborhoods.
A four-course rooftop welcome dinner. A chef cooking onboard the catamaran. A farewell dinner that closes the weekend right. The trip is built around the table.
12 to 15 travelers per group. The strangers at Friday's welcome reception are friends by Monday's farewell dinner. We've watched it happen on every trip.
The luxury boutique hotel inside the walls. The private 42' catamaran. The bartenders, the chef, the rhythm of each day. Every choice made on purpose.
Casco Viejo is the historic heart of Panama City — a small peninsula of cobblestone streets and colonial walls jutting into the Bay of Panama on the Pacific coast. Our luxury boutique hotel sits inside those walls.
On Sunday, we head to the Amador Causeway to board the catamaran at Flamenco Marina, then sail south into the bay to Taboga Island — about 12 miles offshore. One of the prettiest spots in the country, and one most travelers never see.
Land at PTY and check into our luxury boutique hotel inside Casco Viejo's walls. Take the afternoon to settle in, explore nearby neighborhoods, or relax after travel.
Evening: Opening Night Welcome Reception on a rooftop with views of Casco Viejo on one side and the Panama City skyline on the other. Three-hour open bar, four-course dinner, dessert. After dinner wraps, the group spills into Casco Viejo's bars and clubs to keep the night going.
Morning: Guided Embera Village & Waterfall Tour — a half-day trip up the river to one of the most memorable cultural experiences in the country. Time with an Indigenous community that's preserved its way of life, traditional food cooked over open fire, a hike to a waterfall.
Afternoon's yours. Brunch somewhere good, nap, museum it up, or do nothing at all.
OptionalGroup dinner before the night gets going.
OptionalGuided Bar Hop Through Casco Viejo — three of the neighborhood's best spots: speakeasies, rooftops, the places you'd never find on your own.
Group transportation picks us up in front of Central Hotel in Casco Viejo and runs us over to Flamenco Marina in Amador. From there, we board a private 42' catamaran for an eight-hour day on the water — cruising the bay, anchoring near Taboga Island ("Island of Flowers"), swimming, lounging, eating.
A chef is on board cooking real food the entire day. The catamaran is BYOB, so plan a stop the day before to grab whatever you want to drink.
Back at the marina by late afternoon. Evening's yours.
Morning: Panamanian Coffee Workshop led by Laury, a local coffee expert and owner of Makea Coffee Company. Tastings of multiple beans across multiple brewing methods, including the world-famous Panamanian Geisha — one of the most prized coffees on earth.
Evening: Farewell Dinner together. One last meal, one last round of stories, contact info swapped for the next time we end up in the same city.
